Supported models and how usage works

Northlit is model agnostic: the workspace supports models from multiple providers. Image options include GPT Image 2, FLUX.2, Recraft V4.1, and Imagen 4. Video options include Seedance, Kling, and Veo. The model picker in Northlit shows the available options.

Generated images cost 1 credit each. Video starts at 6 credits per clip and varies with the model, duration, and resolution; check the request price before generating. Prototype builds and edits in code use metered generation and compute. All draw from the same credit balance.

Who is Northlit for?

Northlit is for independent designers, studios, agencies, founders, and builders who want to explore visual directions and turn a chosen idea into assets or working prototypes.

Do I need an existing brand?

No. Start with a brief or references, then develop a direction. If you already have a brand, bring its logo, typography, palette, tone, and reference work to guide the process.

How do I steer the results?

Combine your brief and references with styles, design systems, templates, and skills. Skills are reusable instructions for specific design tasks. Saved Brand DNA captures your visual context; locked DNA guides generation. Review generated imagery and logos before delivery.

Which agents are built into Northlit?

Northlit includes its own agent and Claude Code for building and editing prototypes. You can also connect Northlit to an external agent environment, including Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT, or Cursor, through the separate agent connection setup.

Can I choose different models?

Yes. Northlit supports models from multiple providers for image, video, and code generation. Available choices appear in the product. Image generation is 1 credit per image at Fast, Balanced or High quality (Ultra is 2, Max is 4); video pricing depends on model, duration, and resolution. Explore model options.

What can I export or share?

Export HTML and React, share a published prototype, and give your coding agent design tokens, a build link, and a design specification. Real data, accounts, payments, and production readiness need development beyond the prototype.

Are welcome credits the same as the trial?

New accounts receive 25 one-time welcome credits before any card or subscription. A separate seven-day subscription trial requires a card and has trial usage limits. Unless canceled before it ends, it converts to the selected paid plan at the selected billing frequency. Review the terms in checkout before starting a trial.

How do credits and top-ups work?

Images, AI image edits, explorations, prototype builds, video, and 3D draw from one credit balance. Plan credits refresh monthly and do not accumulate. Purchased credit packs do not expire. Top-ups are available through Plans & Billing; daily and feature-specific limits still apply.

What is different about Brand DNA lock?

Brand DNA stores your brand's visual context. Locking it applies that context as guidance during generation. Brand DNA lock and brand books are included on every plan — the plans differ in capacity, not in what the product can do. Generated results still need your review.
